On this day in 1968, the Rolling Stones original, Brian Jones, made his final live appearance with the Rolling Stones at the Empire Pool in Wembley.

A year later on 3rd July 1969, he drowned at home in his pool whilst under the influence of drugs and alcohol, aged 27.

Another fantastic musician who died far too young and again, at the very peculiar age of 27.
